We were shortlistedfor the RIBA organised competition 'Shinfield Community Centre', with a design that looks for a way to positively define the centre's relationship with both the Village Green, and the developing site in the North.

Our concept lightly references the character of the historic local buildings in both materials and style, while elements of light and glass provide a modern, brighter context. Accents of peppermint and bi-fold doors help re-imagine the community space as something flexible and fresh, transforming the spaces from meeting rooms and club rooms into a light filled structure that maximises the views of the surrounding context landscape.  The new café has daylight from all sides linking to the new courtyard, village green views, the War Memorial and north side development, forming a new waypoint between the new and old communities.
